“With Gates by my side,” Trump stated during a speech in Iowa, “We will show these losers in Washington how to properly run a country.”
Trump also pledged that his cabinet would consist of the country’s wealthiest people.
“What America needs is rich people to show these dummies how to turn a profit. These guys might know more about foreign policy, but I know more about foreign currency. How can you consider yourself a great leader if you can’t make money? I will comprise a cabinet of America’s elite class and make this countrygreat again,” Trump told the raucous crowd.
Bill Gates has never come out in full support of Republicans or Democrats, but the former Microsoft CEO has donated more money to Democrats and many believe that he is most likely a Democrat. That would prove troublesome for Republican voters who are already weary of voting for Trump, who has admitted to donating to the party’s biggest rivalHillary Clinton.
Unlike Trump, Gates has a vested interest in many social issues. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation frequently donates to fighting hunger, fighting disease, reforming education, and many more causes. In 2014 Bill, and wife Melinda, topped Forbes list as the most philanthropic Americans. Over his lifetime Bill Gates has donated more than $30 billion. Gates is currently the richest person on the planet with a net worth of around $80 billion.
