Just when it was beginning to look like we were going to see Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao square off the ring, Floyd Mayweather has reportedly called the fight off stating that Pacquiao failed his first drug test.
Mayweather first called for Olympic-style drug testing to be enforced if the two were going to fight on May 2, 2015. Pacquiao even stated that he would pay a five million dollar fine if he were to flunk a drug test.
Still, Mayweather insists that failing the drug test is severe enough to cancel the dream bout in spite of Pacquiao’s insistence on financial or punitive injuctions for the offense once again depriving fans of what would sure to be the fight of the century if only had it taken place six years ago.
Mayweather has now signed on to Fight Miguel Cotto in place of Pacquiao on May 2.
